Where's Roy?

This week we ask the question: Where’s Roy?
That’s the extent of this one. If you are a new listener to tBGR, we apologize from the bottom of our hearts.

When creating this post, I used the work inane {spelled incorrectly}. I find it particularly amusing that the term PODCAST CHATTER is in the dictionary under the definition for INNANE:

Podcast chatter is an uninteresting monolog put into a podcast due to the podcaster’s mistaken belief that (a) it is necessary to spend a significant amount of time in a podcast talking, and (b) said podcaster has something interesting to say.

News from the Bionic Genius Compound

Science Fair PhotoWe’ve already had several emails asking how we built our TIME MACHINE.
Truth be told, we obtained our time machine prototype from Glendy M. at the Benjamin Franklin Science Fair. Glendy and her father. We convinced her that a stack of Pokemon cards, Roy’s Nano and 10,000 Second Life Lindex credits was a fair trade.

We think her father, Mr. M. helped build the machine, but we won’t tell.

we got your email

Lastly, we’ve had a busy week of time travel, and are finally catching-up on emails. There have been many requests to tour our facilities here in Indiana. We are proud of our awesome facility, but at this time cannot allow any visitation. Once the insurance cases settle, we would love to have you come stay with us. Until then, we’ve posted several photos.

What Does a Genius Have for Lunch?

Chasing Jon Stewart Update: an interview with Amal Dorai about the Time Travel Convention at MIT.

Alan’s World: Alan takes us on a trip through time with our own time machine.

Special Interview: Ronald L. Mallett, Ph.D., Professor of Physics, University of Connecticut.
Visit his web site: phys.uconn.edu/faculty/mallett

Dr. Mallett’s Time Machine Project

For quite some time, Ronald Mallett has been working on plans for a time machine. This machine uses a ring laser and the theory of relativity. He plans on testing it in the near future. In a recent paper by Ken D. Olum and Allen Everett the authors claimed to have disproved Dr. Mallett’s hypothesis yet Dr. Mallett maintains that this paper is founded on a physical misconception. A constraint is needed to confine the circulating light beam to a cylindrical path. This is taken into account in his paper as a geometrical constraint. Dr. Mallett has attempted to contact the authors about this misconception but so far they have not responded. In the meantime as of this entry in October 2005, funding is still being pursued in order to properly test Dr. Mallett’s theories. He is also in the process of writing a book on Time Travel due for publication in the fall of 2006. snagged from wikipedia.com

Dwight Yoakam on Buck Owens:

“I was devastated by Buck’s passing since I had talked to him just a couple days ago and even though he seemed in a somewhat fragile physical state, he was emotionally exuberant and still living life in a forward motion, discussing a variety of plans for his future. My thoughts and prayers are with his three sons, Buddy Allen, Michael and Johnny, his grandchildren and his girlfriend Karen. I will cherish, forever, the musical moments he graciously shared with me during his life. I will be eternally grateful for his fatherly chastisements, encouragement and, ultimately, his friendship and love. I will miss him deeply.”

Roy Featured in St. Patrick’s Day Parade as CAPTAIN PIKE!

Pike on Parade

We’re having some fun out here! Thanks for your support! Lonnie Gimmons {raspberry hat} is pictured pulling our Roy.

Dyersville Iowa welcomed St. Patrick’s Day with their Helms’ Main Street Parade. We were lucky as Irish to stay at the Helms Bed & Breakfast. Alan was excited about the free wireless internet; Roy was happy to take part in the parade. The parade’s chairperson was Lavon Helms Gimmons – owner of our B&B! When you’re in Dyersville, you need to try Lavon’s “Afternoon Delight”, A graham cracker crust filled with a creamy sweet concoction and topped with raspberry pie filling. She added green coloring to top the occasion! Our interns had a food fight at the Helms Dog Walk. We didn’t get a picture, but you can imagine the green and red mess. What a great crew! Alan is finally catching-up on emails and we finally will have time to get the show posted. Take care people!

van broke STOP send love to families FULL STOP

We apologize for the delay. The VW van broke down when we visited the Field of Dreams Baseball Diamond, and it took us a couple of days to tie in to the power grid, readjust satellite locations and throw up false trails for the CIA. We should be finished with these technical preparations by this evening, when we will, at long last, post the long-awaited Episode 19: the Fade to Bluegrass Episode, in which we discover a bluegrass band playing Stairway to Heaven.

Welcome Dawn & Drew Show listeners!

While presenting you all with a huge laurel and hearty handshake, we also have some ‘splainin’ to do for our regular listeners/visitors. The geniuses sold their souls to the ones who sold their souls to the devil. Yes, they bought air time on The Dawn & Drew Show. Surprisingly to Terry, Alan & Roy, the Bionic Genius Board of Directors approved the expenditure. On budgetary matters they’re still in the dark, and we owe them some answers as to why we’re even on the road. Luckily, they are not hip to anything web-related. (If by chance one of the executives finds this message, this is an intern who hacked-into tBGR mainframe.)
